What We Do

specializes in the careful crafting of custom homes. We have a small crew and concentrate on each home. We typically have only 2 houses under construction at at time, except when the final details of one will overlap the start of another. We also specialize in cost-plus building, the low-stress way to build your house and know that no corners will be cut.

We teamed up with Kent and Kathy and their architect Thom Greene to craft this amazing home on 60 acres west of Oregon where they established the Kickapoo Mud Creek Nature Conservancy. The house is a demonstration project in green construction, energy conservation, and alternative energy. We installed wind and solar electrical generation equipment and use passive solar with thermal storage in the structure.

With the support of the Lawrences, we built a very tight, well-insulated, ecologically friendly, and finely detailed home. A normal home requires 40-60 hours of planning before we initiate construction. We spent hundreds of hours on Kickapoo planning, sourcing materials, meeting with the architect, owners, suppliers, and subcontractors before we broke ground.

The end result is a fantastically detailed home which should last many lifetimes. It is the best work we have ever done, and we are very proud of it. The home appears in the January/February issue of Eco-Structure Magazine (www.eco-structure.com)
